Prints and Stock images of the Carse of Stirling.
The Carse of Stirling, formerly a expansive area of bog, was drained and cleared of peat over the course of a 100 years from 1760. Unfortunately, the cleared peat silted up the River Forth and shipping was no longer able to reach Stirling, but over 10,000 acres of rich farmland had been created.
