Cambuskenneth Abbey

Founded in 1140 by King David, Cambuskenneth Abbey is the burial place of King James III and his wife Queen Margaret. James was murdered on the 11th June, 1488 after the nearby Battle of Sauchieburn. The abbey is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland.
