Prints and Stock Images of Bannockburn.
In 1314 Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, defeated the English King Edward II and reaffirmed Scotland's status as an independent nation. The Borestone, where Bruce's statue stands today, at Bannockburn is the place where he raised his standard - the battle took place down on the carse near the River Forth. The site is in the care of the National Trust for Scotland.
